Gaylordsville
Fire Department
Ladies Auxiliary
Who are we? The Gaylordsville Volunteer
Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary was formed in September 1965.
We are a group of volunteers that support the Gaylordsville Volunteer
Fire Department. We have active members, junior members, and
associate members.
Why was the Ladies Auxiliary
formed?
Many years ago, the ladies used a phone chain to notify firemen
of an emergency in the area. The firemen's wives decided to form
a group to help support the firemen and local community.
What do we do?
Our mission is to assist the Fire Department;
serving refreshments at fire calls, training, or drills as needed
supporting the firemen at parades by marching
supporting Fire Department activities such as the GVFD Christmas
Ham Dinner and the GVFD annual fall Poker Run Each fall and spring,
we sponsor an Auxiliary Flea Market as a fundraiser. We award
an annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior.
When do we meet?
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30
p.m.
Where can you find us?
Meetings are held at the firehouse.
